Does Asana Have A Desktop App For Mac
Posted : admin On 25.02.2020Asana was designed to make collaboration among team members a more fluid process. Because Asana is free to groups smaller than 15 members and offers both a web app and mobile application version, Asana is becoming one of the most popular ways to collaborate among groups.
If your group is larger than 15 members, you will have to contact the Asana sales team for a software license that allows more members to join. Prices vary depending on the number of members you want to add to your Asana account.
Getting started with Asana
From your desktop, click Apps in the left sidebar. Search for and select Asana to open a direct message with the app. Type /asana into the message field and press Enter or select Send. Click Connect Asana to Slack and follow the prompts. Click Allow to grant the app access to your Asana. Trello for desktop now offers more granular keyboard shortcuts, as well as the ability to set custom ones. Click the gear icon in the top right corner of Trello for Desktop to create custom shortcuts to open the app, as well as a Quick Add shortcut to create a card from wherever you are. Using Asana features
Since Asana was designed by the co-founder of Facebook, the Asana user interface is similar in nature. The Asana service includes main features such as
Profiles
User Status Updates
Tasks
Projects
Attachments

Profiles — Profiles on Asana are a simple way to find and contact the correct person on your team. Instead of more invasive profiles that can be found on other similar products such as Yammer or Jive, Asana keeps things simple by including only a Photo, Full Name, and “About Me” paragraph. It does not include marital status, age, birthday, or any other personal nonpertinent information.
To find and view a profile is a different process than you would expect as well. After clicking on the person you want to view, instead of being routed to a profile page you are presented with that person’s task list. Here you can find that person’s completed and new tasks, statuses, calendar, and attachments.
User Status Updates — User status updates are similar to Facebook’s newsfeeds. Here you will be able to view a list of statuses from all of your team members. This list will not include personal postings but instead keeps everyone on the same page with the status of each team member’s involvement in the project(s). It helps keep track of tasks and deadlines and lets you know if someone needs help or is struggling with something.
To view a member’s status, you can click on their profile image. Here, you will see a list of tasks assigned to that member. Click on the task, and on the right side of the screen you will be shown a threaded list of statuses that occurred for that particular task.
Tasks — Tasks are the whole basis behind Asana. Since Asana is classified as a business-class task management application, the use of tasks is presented in every screen of the app.
To create a new task for your account or another team member’s account, click on the corresponding profile task page and click Add task here. Type the name of the task, and on the right of the screen you are presented with a detailed box of what the task involves. You can add your task to a project or create a new project for the task. Here, you can add a description of the task, sub-tasks, attachments, status updates, deadlines, tags, share support, and see who in the team you want to have follow that task.
Projects — Projects are a nifty way for Asana users to group tasks together so all correlating information is easy to find. When grouping tasks together in a project, you can view the project in the dashboard tab of your account home page. When a project is created, a progress bar graph is created that shows the number of tasks, how many have been completed, and when the project is due.
Desktop App Ipad
To add a project click on the Projects + button located in the left sidebar of the app’s home screen. After giving the project a name, you can add more detailed information on the right side of the screen including an author, description, status, and progress. You also can manage which tasks are included in the open project.
Attachments — Attachments do exactly as described. They allow you to attach files of any format to either a particular task or to an entire project.
To add an attachment click on the photo icon located within a project, task, or profile status box.
Many more minor features are available in Asana’s web app — for instance, Share Support, Team Celebration Boxes, Celebration Unicorns, third-party App Integration, and Recurring Tasks.

Across your company there are undoubtedly tons of boards, but you personally only check a few of them on a regular basis. In fact, you probably even have a favorite Trello board.

One other helpful workflow in Trello is to keep a list of your boards stuck to the left side of the app for easy navigation, almost like channels in a chat app. To do this, click on the “Boards” button in the top left corner of Trello, and scroll down to the bottom. Click the link “Always keep this menu open” and the list will stay sticky on the left side. (Note: This feature is also available in the Trello web app.)
